The Acquired format of the card generally has a white standard design, while the Original format typically has a black and brown design. Cards issued in both formats must be surrendered upon expiry. Upon renewal, you will need to provide your new id card number and the expiration date of your old card. If you have moved out of this state or if your id card is expired for more than six months, you must renewal it at the state or county office where you reside. In Texas, your id card is renewable for one year from the date of its issuance.
