The Coast Guard id card is an electronic card, issued through the Coast Guard Post Card Operations Center (CPCOC). Not only do volunteers need to be identifiable when they are on the job, but also when they are interacting with the organization, it is easier for volunteers to understand who is responsible for each individual volunteer effort. If you’re like most people, you use a birth certificate or passport to identify yourself. But if you’re in the U.S. Blue cross blue shield members are often active in many different organizations and may have different ids across these groups. This id card will also include your name and photograph, so friends and family can easily find out where you are and who can help you if you need health care.
