In order to receive a free id card in Florida, you must be a citizen or permanent resident of the state. You must also have a current job offer and be of legal age. Along with the id card, many other supplies, such as a driver’s license or passport, are often sent along with the card. You may be able to apply through a local public services authority or through the Department of Homeland Security. In the wake of the Georgia Legislature's passage of a bill that would make it a requirement for georgians to have an id card in order to vote, many are concerned about what the future holds for the state. Allowing individuals to access their state id card information, including their name and photograph, is an important part of having governmental access. Not having this information readily accessible could lead to error or theft in the future.
